FUE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION  IN IRELIA HEALTH

Hair Transplant

FUE Transplantation  (Follicular Unit Extraction)

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is one of the most advanced and popular hair transplantation techniques used to restore hair naturally and effectively. It involves extracting individual hair follicles from a donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp) and implanting them into the thinning or balding areas.

Unlike the traditional FUT method, FUE does not require cutting a strip of scalp, making it minimally invasive, leaving no visible linear scar, and ensuring a quicker recovery with less discomfort.

The Procedure:

Consultation and Hairline Design:

  • A personalized hairline is designed based on the patient’s facial structure and hair density. The donor area is examined to determine suitability.

Extraction:

  • Hair follicles are extracted one by one using a micro-punch tool (0.6–1.0 mm in diameter) under local anesthesia.

Graft Preparation:

  • The extracted grafts are carefully sorted and preserved.

Implantation:

  • Tiny incisions are made in the recipient area, and follicles are implanted at a precise angle and direction to mimic natural hair growth.

Healing and Recovery Process

  • Day 1–3:
Mild redness, swelling, and sensitivity may occur in both the donor and recipient areas. Patients are advised to rest and avoid touching or washing the scalp.

  • Day 3–7:
Small scabs begin to form around the implanted grafts. Gentle washing starts around day 3 as instructed by the clinic.

  • Day 7–10:
Scabbing begins to fall off naturally. It's important not to scratch or forcefully remove them to avoid dislodging grafts.

  • Week 2–4:
The "shock loss" phase may begin — newly transplanted hairs fall out. This is completely normal and temporary.

  • Month 2–4:
New hair starts to regrow gradually. Patients may notice thin baby hairs emerging.

  • Month 6:
Significant visible growth. Hair becomes denser, and the natural hairline takes shape.

  • Month 9–12:
Final results become more evident. Hair thickens, and full density is typically achieved by month 12.

Post-Operative Care Tips

  • Avoid strenuous activities, sun exposure, and sweating for the first 10 days.

  • Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights.

  • Use only prescribed products for washing and moisturizing.

  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, and blood-thinning medications for at least a week.

  • Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your doctor closely.
