BEARD TRANSPLANT IN IRELIA HEALTH

Man Beard

Beard transplantation

Beard transplantation is a cosmetic procedure designed to restore or enhance facial hair density by transplanting healthy hair follicles, typically from the scalp, to the beard area. It is ideal for men who have patchy, thin, or uneven beard growth due to genetics, scarring, or other factors. The procedure delivers natural-looking, permanent results, allowing patients to achieve the desired beard shape and thickness.

The Procedure:

Consultation and Beard Design:

  • A detailed consultation is conducted to assess the patient's facial structure, hair type, and desired beard style. A personalized plan is created to define areas of transplantation, such as the cheeks, chin, mustache, or jawline.

Donor Hair Extraction:

  • Hair follicles are usually harvested from the back or sides of the scalp using either the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) technique. These areas are chosen because their hair closely resembles facial hair in texture and thickness.

Implantation:

  • Using fine instruments, individual grafts are carefully implanted into the beard area, considering the natural growth angle, density, and direction for a seamless, authentic look.

Healing and Recovery Process

  • Day 1–3:
Mild redness, swelling, and tiny crusts form around the transplanted follicles. Patients should avoid touching the area and keep it clean as instructed.

  • Day 5–7:
Scabbing naturally begins to fall off. Gentle cleansing is important, and patients must not scratch or pick at the area.

  • Week 2–4:
Some transplanted hairs may shed during the shock loss phase, which is a normal part of the process.

  • Month 2–4:
New beard hair starts to grow, initially appearing thin and soft.

  • Month 6:
Significant beard growth is visible, and the density improves.

  • Month 9–12:
Full results are achieved, with a thick, natural-looking beard that can be trimmed and styled as desired.

Post-Operative Care Tips

  • Avoid shaving for the first 10–14 days after the procedure.

  • Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol during the initial healing phase.

  • Protect the face from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

  • Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your specialist.
